TopDeck.gg Software GuideHow to Create TCG Tournaments
Learn how to create and configure online tournaments with professional tournament management software. Complete guide covering games, formats, scoring, and advanced settings.
Creating a tournament on TopDeck.gg is a straightforward process designed to be quick and user-friendly. You'll start by entering a few basic details; later you can modify these or view more advanced options within th tournament manager itself.
Step 1: Navigate to the Dashboard
Navigate to the tournament dashboard. On the top right of the card, you click the button New Tournament. A configuration screen will pop out with required tournament details for you to fill out.
Step 2: Enter Tournament Details
Once on configuration screen, you'll need to enter a name (longer than 3 characters), date and time, and select a game/format from the dropdown. You can also quick enable self reporting.
Optionally, you can enter basic event page information such as player cap, price, location, and contact details.
Once you're ready, click the Create button and your event will be created. You can then navigate to it by clicking Manage Tournament.
Step 3: Setting Up Advanced Configurations
When you select a game/format, the program assigns default configurations for you per selection. You can modify this further by navigating to the Configuration tab in the tournament manager.
You'll have a few options:
Points Mode
Select a standard win/loss/draw points mode, or something more custom.
- Score Based: Instead of entering game wins and losses, scores are entered based on "points"
- Point Wager: Players start with a set score and "wager" a percentage of their points per game, with the winner taking all.
- Advanced: Gain access to all options if you want to set something more customized.
Round Settings

- Round Duration: How long each round will run for
- Bye Mode (Commander only): Set if you want byes, 3 player pods, and more
