Questions organizers ask
How does the free trial work?
Every tool is free for 14 days. Your plan starts when the trial ends, unless you cancel first. There’s one free trial per account.
Does it replace EventLink, TOM or Bandai TCG+?
No, it works alongside them. Run sanctioned events in the publisher’s tool and everything else on TopDeck. For sanctioned Magic, register players on TopDeck, then export them straight into Wizards EventLink.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Cancel from your account, under Manage Payments & Subscriptions. You keep every tool until the paid period ends.
Do my players need the app?
No. Pairings, standings and results work on any phone, in 7 languages, and the TopDeck app adds alerts. No phone? Add them by name.
Do I have to sell tickets on TopDeck?
No. Take payment however you do today, or sell tickets on TopDeck when you want to.
Do my judges and staff need a plan?
No. Only the organizer needs a plan. Staff sign in with a free TopDeck account, and each role sees only its part.
What if the internet goes down?
Keep running the event on your laptop: pair, publish and enter results, and print pairings for the room. Everything syncs when you reconnect.
How big can my events be?
There’s no player limit. TopDeck pairs 400 players in under 5 seconds and has been tested past 4,000.
What happens to my events if I cancel?
Your past events, results and event pages stay up. You need a plan again to create new events.
Our store is approved for a publisher’s organized play. Do we need a plan?
Not for that game: its events are free for approved stores. A plan adds every other game.
