Circuit Information
Welcome to the King Of The North (East) Circuit 2026 - sponsored by Gathering Point!
King Of The North (East) is a circuit aiming to crown the best cEDH tournament player and grinder in the North East. Points are awarded to players at cEDH tournament taking place in the North East - primarily Tees Valley MTG events but any event using the Juízes MTG Portugal Multiplayer Addendum can be included. If you are an LGS or TO based in the North East, please get in touch, either by Discord or by e-mail, about including your events in the circuit.
At the end of November, all the points will be frozen and the top 16 players will be invited to play in the King Of The North (East) Invitational, sponsored by Gathering Point, taking place on Sunday December 13th, where the King (or Queen) will be crowned.
Event Tiers and Points
Eligible events will need to include a minimum of 17 players. Events will be classified into the following tiers with the following points:
Bronze - 17 - 24 Players
- Winner - 10 Points
- Top 4 - 7 Points
- Top Cut - 4 Points
Silver - 25 - 32 Players
- Winner - 15 Points
- Top 4 - 11 Points
- Top Cut - 6 Points
Gold - 33+ Players
- Winner - 20 Points
- Top 4 - 15 Points
- Top Cut - 8 Points
A player's total points is not an accumulation of points throughout the year but a "best of" for each tier. For each event tier, a player’s counted results are their highest-scoring finishes equal to half the total number of events held in that tier during the year, rounded up.
For example, if 7 Bronze events are held throughout the year, each player's best 4 Bronze results count. If 1 Silver event is held throughout the year, each player's single best Silver result is counted. If 3 Gold events are held throughout the year, each player's best 2 Gold results count.
Please note that in the rare case there is a 41+ player event, a Platinum tier may be created with the same rules as above.
Tees Valley MTG reserve the right at add to, amend or remove any rules throughout the year to correct errors or to handle unforeseen circumstances.
Leaderboard
The leaderboard will be updated after each event has ended.
Being higher up the leaderboard, in the top 16, will result in a better seeding and seat order in the King Of The North (East) Invitational.
Players will be contacted at the beginning of December to confirm their attendance for the invitational. If players do not wish to compete, players will be contacted, in order of the leaderboard, to compete or attend as an alternate.
Tie-breakers will be the following:
- Best single result at the highest tier
- Total points earned at the highest tier
- Total event wins (at any tier)
- Total events attended
Please note that tie breakers are only applicable for the invitational event for seeding and seat order purposes. The leaderboard may not reflect these tie-breakers.
