February cEDH - European Championship Qualifier - Tees Valley MTG

Monthly cEDH tournament organised by Tees Valley MTG - a playtest-friendly event

Date and Time: Sunday 22nd January 2026 - 10:30AM Registration - 11:00AM Start

Entry: cost of entry is £25 - cash or card payments are available at this venue

Rules

We will be using the cEDH UK addendum for Tournament Rules and Infraction Procedures along with the following rules:

• Playtest cards allowed (full colour and recognisable art)
• 80 minute rounds (without turns)
• 3/4 rounds of Swiss with final top 10/16 cut (Swiss round structure and top cut dependent on player count)
• Please post decklist links on TopDeck after registration (required)
• Top cut matches will be timed at 120 minutes - after which the standard end-of-match procedure will be followed

These rules are subject to change before the event and any changes will be made clear during event announcements.

Prizing

Top 4 prizing will be store vouchers for LGS Geek Retreat Sunderland - located conveniently inside Laser Quest Sunderland. Prizing will be announced at the start of the tournament - prizing will scale depending on player count. All entry fees, after the £10 food voucher, store vouchers for top 10/16 (amount dependent on player count) and cost to provide prizes to be raffled at random to those not reaching the top 10/16 are deducted, to be used as prizing for the top 4.

• 1st - 40% (minus the cost of the ticket to the cEDH European Championship)
• 2nd - 20%
• 3rd - 20%
• 4th - 20%

All timings are approximate as rounds may start earlier if all previous games are completed:

• 10:30 - Registration
• 11:00 - Round 1 Swiss
• 12:30 - Lunch
• 13:00 - Round 2 Swiss
• 14:30 - Round 3 Swiss
• 16:00 - Round 4 Swiss / Top 10 Cut
• 17:30 - Top 4 Final / Top 10 Cut / Top 16 Cut
• 19:30 - Top 4 Final

Parking

Parking is available close to the venue - various street parking is available and free on Sundays. Alternatively, Station Car Park (Holmeside, Sunderland, SR1 3JE) is a flat £3 for all day parking on Sundays.

Public Transport

The nearest train station to the venue is Sunderland Train Station, which is a 5 minute walk away from the venue.

Hartlepool - bus number 23 to Sunderland Interchange is a 10 minute walk away from the venue. Alternatively, regular trains run between Hartlepool and Sunderland.

Darlington - bus number X21 to Sunderland Interchange is a 10 minute walk away from the venue. Alternatively, regular trains run between Darlington and Sunderland.

Stockton - there are no direct buses from Stockton to Sunderland. Regular trains run between Stockton and Sunderland.

Middlesbrough - there are no direct buses from Middlesbrough to Sunderland. Alternatively, regular trains run between Middlesbrough and Sunderland.

Food and Drink

The venue does not allow outside food and drinks.

This venue has a fully stocked bar, with hot and cold drinks, and a professional kitchen offering a variety of hot meals.
