About this event

It all comes down to this. After a grueling year of climbing the ELO leaderboard, the ultimate Pauper Commander battle is here: the Wanderer's PDH League Finals Invitational - Year 2!

This is the End-of-Year Invitational where the format's greatest pilots will clash for glory, cash prizes, and the undisputed title of League Champion. Show up this year in league play, shuffle your decks, and prove that you have what it takes to reign supreme by earning your way to this invitational with the best of the best!


The Invitational Event

The season concludes with the Wanderer's League Invitational. This isn't an open bracket; you have to earn your seat at the table.

  • The Invitational field will consist of either the top 16 players from the season leaderboard.

  • Invitations are determined by a combination of leaderboard standing and player disciplinary history.

Prizes

This event features a guaranteed minimum prize pool of $1,000 cash plus deckbox trophies. The final payout distribution is as follows:

  • 1st Place: 55% of the prize pool (minimum $550).

  • 2nd – 4th Place: 15% of the prize pool each (minimum $150 each).

  • Top 16: The top 16 Invitational finishers will receive exclusive deckbox trophies.

Rules & Match Structure

This event will be held to Competitive REL standards on ruling and conduct to ensure a fair and fierce competition.

  • Standard Magic: The Gathering Tournament Rules apply, supplemented by the Competitive REL MTR/IPG Addendum for Commander Events.

  • All matches have a mandatory 90-minute time limit except the final match of the invitational which will have no time limit.

  • The timer runs continuously with no pause feature.

  • All players must demonstrate competitive etiquette by only making plays designed to help them win the game.

Estimated Schedule

  • 8:45am - Player's Meeting - All players must attend the Player's Meeting. Anyone not in attendance will be bounced from the tournament.
  • 9:00am - 10:30am - Round 1
  • 10:30am - Noon - Round 2
  • Noon - 1:30pm - Round 3
  • 2:00pm - Finals

Card Legality & Gameplay Requirements

  • Format: Decks must be a 100-card singleton featuring an uncommon creature, vehicle, or spacecraft as the commander, alongside 99 common cards matching the commander's color identity.

  • Physical Cards Required: All matches must be played using physical Magic: The Gathering cards.

  • No Simulators: Digital simulators (including but not limited to Moxfield, Cockatrice, Archidekt, Tabletop Simulator, or similar platforms) are strictly prohibited.

  • Playtest Cards Legal: Full color playtest cards are legal, provided they use official Wizards of the Coast artwork. They must not be handwritten or printed in black and white.

  • Webcam Standards: Camera angles should show the entire play area, player's hand, and adequate lighting is required for card legibility.
