Reminder on the additional rulings to be applied:
Anti-Kingmaking Rule
Rule: Competitive Play Integrity
- Players must always make game decisions that reasonably advance their own chances of winning the game or improving their final standing.
- A player may not intentionally make plays whose primary purpose is to determine which opponent wins the game when that player no longer has a realistic path to victory.
- Examples of prohibited kingmaking include:
a. Using removal, counters, or other effects solely to help a specific player win when it provides no strategic benefit to the acting player.
b. Conceding at a time specifically intended to advantage one opponent over others.
c. Making deals or plays intended only to decide the winner rather than improve the acting player’s outcome.
- Political gameplay, temporary alliances, and deals are allowed only if they reasonably improve the acting player’s chances of winning.
- Judges or the event organizer may issue penalties for kingmaking, including:
- Warning
- Game loss
- Removal from the event for repeated offenses
The judge’s interpretation of intent and game impact is final.
Watch List Policy
The Watch List contains cards and commanders that are currently legal but are under observation by the Tournament Organizer and judges.
These cards have shown patterns of:
- Creating unhealthy gameplay environments
- Producing consistent early-game wins
- Causing excessive game delays or repetitive loops
- Generating disproportionate advantage relative to the table
- Encouraging kingmaking or uninteractive gameplay
Cards on the Watch List may be banned in future events if they continue to negatively impact gameplay.
Players are encouraged to avoid building decks that rely heavily on Watch List cards.
