UNL Timewister Grand Prize - $12,000 starting prize pool. Event turnout expands prize support, with a potential to reach TWO UNL Timetwisters awarded to finalists.
This is a proxyless tournament.
Only official licensed Wizards of the Coast game pieces, including any gold bordered and 30th Anniversary cards are legal for play in this event. Print-at-home and playing card style proxies are strictly prohibited. Artist-signed and altered cards are permitted, but must follow the guidelines outlined in the MTR. Only 4 person tables will be paired. Points will be manually awarded each round, with tie-breaker mechanics identical to that of sanctioned play. The point layout is as follows:
- 1 point can be awarded via direct combat, direct damage, or other game-state actions causing a player to be eliminated.
- 1 point can be awarded for each remaining player at the end of the round. ( Draws for example )
- 5 points can be awarded per table. (Any form of elimination or winnning an entire table can be awarded 5 points )
- 2 points will per Bye will be awarded per participant.
Any other variation of awarded points are at the sole discretion of the Head Judge and/or Tournament Staff. Digital decklists required. We prefer digital decklists for this event, as this drastically speeds up any deck checks that may be performed during tournament operation. Pre-registered entrants must have completed Moxfield decklists submitted by no later than 11:59pm on September 29th, 2023. Decklist submission instructions forthcoming and will be posted multiple times throughout the two weeks leading up to the tournament. If we have walk-in or day-of capacity, those participants must have completed and tournament legal Moxfield decklists at the ready. We will observe a hard cutoff for all decklist and payment submissions at 9:55 AM, the morning of the tournament. The final roster will be locked in at or as close to 10:00am as possible, and will not be modified further. If you need assistance with a decklist submission or cannot access digital method, please contact a Crimson Lion Games store representative at your earliest convenience, we will assist in creating your decklist. Tournament structure will consist of five (5) seventy-five (75) minute Swiss rounds, followed by a cut to Top 16. Top 16 semifinal round will be ninety (90) minutes, followed by an untimed final round, both of which are single-elimination format. We are running concurrently and alongside of the Anime North Texas convention. We are bound by the convention center hours of operation, so we ask that you kindly play efficiently. We will observe a 30 minute lunch break at the end of the second Swiss round, as well as a 15 minute break to verify Top 16 standings. Should you decide to drop before the beginning of round 3, your coupon for a discounted entry into one of our Chaos Draft side events will become active. This is a Competitive REL Event. Additional rules for cEDH compatibility will be enforced at the sole discretion of the Head Judge. Any player may appeal a call made by a Floor Judge or appointed Rules Advisor. The Head Judge will make the final determination so that play may continue.
