GK January Special Event: Team Trios (Standard/Modern/Legacy)

Event Information

Welcome to our first Special Event of the year!

Each month we will will explore special formats with our last event of the month and for January we are pleased to be running Team Trios!

The formats will be Standard/Modern/Legacy!

IMPORTANT: Proxies

This event is PROXY FRIENDLY FOR ALL FORMATS. We have always supports proxy friendly legacy and given that this is a team format, It can be awkward if there are varying proxy rules for different formats, so its just easier to allow proxies for all participating formats. Please only use proxies with official MTG art, and if there are print outs then your ENTIRE deck needs to be using printouts.

Prizing

There will be 4 rounds of swiss with a cut to top 4.

• Prizing Breakdown (projected for 10 teams)
  • 1st: Eternal Masters Booster Box
  • 2nd: Modern Horizons 3 Booster Box
  • 3/4th: Magic Foundations Booster Box

Each round is best of 3. Each round will be be 50 minutes in length. If the round time limit is reached before a winner is determined, the player whose turn it is finishes their turn and five additional turns are played in total before the match results in a draw. If a team wins in 2 formats before the 3rd format concludes, they will advance with a 2-0 record and the 3rd format will no longer impact the final score.

This tournament has a 16 Team cap. This tournament will utilize Command Tower for the pairing software.
