Event Information

Welcome to the first cross-continental event between Blight Alberta and Blight Tokyo! The point of this event is to introduce the fast place draws are worthless points style of the God Of Commander cEDH tournaments to people in North America!

Schedule

The event is scheduled to start at 6:30, please arrive and check-in beforehand and be ready to play by 6:30! The event will consist of 3 rounds and then a cut to top table based on the points standing at the end of the 3rd round.

Event Rules

• Point-wager system similar to the God Of Commander events at Hareyuya in Japan
• Starting with 1000 points
• 60 round time limit starting when all players are seated at table
• When round timer reaches 0, the game ends when the active player finished their current turn, or when 10 minutes into overtime occurs.
• Intentional slow-play to burn the timer and avoid passing turn is not permitted. Please play with sportsmanship in mind. If the active player would have without a doubt won the game given the current situation, consider a courtesy concession. There are no benefits for anyone in the event of a draw. A draw is the worst-case outcome for a game.
• Wagering 7% of available points each round
• Attendance from your 2nd week onwards awards 200 points (Roughly equal to 1 win)
• In the event of a draw there is no benefit or winner, all points are destroyed. A draw is the same as a loss
• A bye is considered a win awarding 210 points (3 ghost opponents wagering 7% of the starting 1000)
• Byes are randomly assigned, a player may not choose to take a bye round
• Points awarded for a 3 man pod will include a 4th ghost opponent wagering 70 points (7% of the starting 1000)
• All pods are randomly assigned

Proxy Policy

• Proxies are permitted
• Proxies must have a different backing to regular MTG cards or be permanently marked as to not introduce counterfeit cards into our play pool
• Cards printed and cut-out over a normal magic card in a sleeve are fine as long as there is no noticeable difference in card look and feel while in the deck
• Alternative art cards are okay as long as it is not excessive. Please do not use an entire deck of custom art and named cards as this slows down game play and creates a confusing board state. (If you have questions about it, please ask the T.O., Store owner or local Blight Director)
• No lewd or inappropriate alternate art cards are permitted

Entry Fee and Prizing Structure

• $15 per entrant
• Prizing payout in store credit
• Total prizing payout and structure is dependent on attendance numbers
  • 8 Participants = Payout to winner of final table and (non-table winner) points leader prior to top cut
  • 16 Participants = Payout to winner of final table, 2nd, through 4th place points leader prior to top cut
  • 32 Participants = Payout to winner of final table, 2nd through 8th place points leader prior to top cut
