Commander Tournament Salt Level 7 - December 2024

Event Description

This event is aimed at players of all levels. If you are a beginner or a seasoned player you are welcome to join! The main aim of the event is to allow players to experience a tournament setting, and get used to the playing within a setting whilst testing their own deck building skills! The main aims of the event are player engagement and fun!

As organisers we shall be considering the event a success if by the end all players can report a positive experience, and if players return to other events offered by us in the future.

The event will be held as part of a boardgame day organised by Pandamonium Malta! This means that if you would like to bring along your friends and/or family members (who may not be interested in MTG), they can spend a day trying out different board games (a small fee will apply) whilst you get to enjoy MTG time! That way everybody wins 😉

Free MTG demos will also be offered during the event!

Event Information

• Format: Multiplayer Commander
• Time: 12.30PM - 7.00PM
• Fee: EUR 10; Pre booking is encouraged so that we can get a better idea of who will be attending, and it will save time from registration on the day. Fees will be used to cover prizes and renting of gaming space. Pre booking fees will be refunded should event not fire
• Format Commander (Saltiness Level 7) ·
• Player capping: Maximum 20 players

Rules

• The event is capped at power level 7 (7.1 - 7.9) as per www.commandersalt.com
• Players are to submit decklist to tournament Organiser (Albert Agius) or event Judge (Daniel Tihn) by the indicated deadline.
• Power level for each deck will be double checked prior to the event. Decklists may be checked during the event as well.
• Decks are to follow the normal rules and banned list for Multiplayer Commander available at https://magic.wizards.com/en/banned-restricted-list ·
• Proxies will be allowed (this is not a WPN sanctioned event)
• Based on feedback gathered from our first event, it was noted that some commanders are not hindered by power level capping. Since the aim of this event is to hold a non-cEDH event which focuses mainly on personally brewed decks, and is open to players of all levels (beginner to expert), the following commanders will not be allowed during the event:

• Prize for Winner guaranteed. Prize for 3 runner ups may be added depending on attendance. Prizes to be announced on the day.

The tentatve schedule for the event will be as follows

• 12.30pm - 12.45pm Registration
• 12.45pm - 1.00pm Welcome and Briefing
• 1.00pm - 2.15pm Round 1
• 2.25pm - 3.55pm Round 2
• 4.05pm - 5.35pm Round 3
• 5.45pm - 7.00pm Final Round (top 4 players)
