Judge Tools Come to Mobile - Run the Floor From Your Phone

Today we're rolling out Judge Tools in the TopDeck mobile app. If you're judging or staffing an event, you can now run the floor straight from your phone.

Until now, most of that work lived on the web tournament manager, which usually meant a judge parked behind a laptop. Now you can handle it where the action actually is - at the table, mid-round, with a player standing in front of you.

Getting There

If you're staff on an upcoming or active event, you'll see a new Staffed tab in My Events. Tap your event to open the judge view. The tab only appears when you actually have events to judge, so it stays out of the way the rest of the time.

What You Can Do

Pairings at a Glance

• Browse every table for the current round in a clean list, or flip to a grid view for an at-a-glance overview of the whole room
• Search by table number or player name to jump straight to who you need
• Filter to Unreported, Reported, or Time Ext tables to focus on what needs attention
• A live round clock and round selector sit right in the header, so you always know where the round stands

Standings & Decklists

• Full live standings with records and tiebreakers
• Tap any player to view their decklist, match history, and stats

Penalties

• Issue a penalty to any player at a table - including manually-added players without accounts
• Penalty indicators appear right next to a player's name, so repeat offenders are easy to spot across the round

Time Extensions

• Grant a time extension to any table in a couple of taps; the extra time shows on the pairing immediately

Message Players

• Send a direct message to everyone at a table, or to an individual player, without leaving the screen

Enter & Correct Results

• Admins and owners can record match results directly - best-of game wins, score-based results, and pod winners are all supported
• Made a mistake or recorded the wrong table? Clear a result to reset it back to unreported

Built for the Floor

Common actions are a tap or two away, and the layout mirrors the web tournament manager - so if you've run an event on TopDeck before, there's nothing new to learn.

Judge Tools are available today in the latest version of the TopDeck mobile app. You can get it here on the App Store or Google Play to start using them at your next event. Already have the app? You should see the update automatically.
