Thank you for you interest in the fourth event of the Upstate NY Pauper Open Series! The UNYP Open Series is a grassroots tournament circuit hosted by UNYP for you, the community! Our shop-agnostic Opens offer a competitive outlet for Pauper players of any skill level or motivation in a laid back environment. We greatly appreciate your patience following UNYP Open III back in April as we dealt with the loss of our prior tournament software, Spicerack, and worked to rebuild our infrastructure for these events. We look forward to hosting you once again for an amazing day of competitive Pauper at Spotted Octopus Brewing Company! As we always say, "Come for the Magic. Stay for The Gathering - or maybe the beer!" Players do NOT need to be 21+ to attend.

Pricing: $50+Fees; Walk-ins Welcome; Entry will increase to $52+Fees at midnight on Oct. 31st and at the door. For information regarding refunds, please see the section below.
Capacity: 64 Players; Additional spots may open up if the waitlist supports it. A minimum of 32 players are required to fire.
Timing: 11:00 AM; Doors open at 10:00 AM; Check-In opens at 10:30 AM; Player meeting starts at 10:45 AM

Prizing: Top 8 finalists will receive medals and the champion will have their name and decklist engraved on the base of the Atog Memorial Cup. Additional prizing will be based on attendance and paid out via PayPal or Venmo. Please see the Prize Structure section below for the most up-to-date prizing details as they become available.
Food & Drink: Food and drink will be available for purchase at the venue. Check out their tap list and food menu here! Soft and non-alcoholic beverages are available. Please refrain from bringing outside food and drinks into the venue. Water bottles are allowed.
Decklists are required for this event and must be submitted via TopDeck prior to check-in. Decklists submitted via TopDeck can be changed until check-in is completed.
This tournament will operate at a Competitive REL. Please ensure you understand the basics of this REL and your responsibilities prior to arriving at the venue. Our head judge is available in the #ask-a-judge channel of our Discord server to answer any questions you may have in advance of the event. Additional resources, including a Comp. REL primer compiled by our head judge, can be found pinned in the same channel.
Top 8 finalists will receive medals and the champion will have their name and decklist engraved on the base of the Atog Memorial Cup. Monetary prizes will be based on attendance and paid out via PayPal or Venmo. Prizing will be paid out to the Top 8 with additional prizing paid out to the Top 16 if the event reaches or exceeds capacity. Estimated* values and payouts are provided below.

The Game Cave will be in attendance as the official vendor for this event. Consider contacting them through their Discord or messaging them on Facebook to check the availability of any cards you may need for the event and pick them up on-site!

Refunds will be processed automatically if requested more than two weeks out from the event. Refunds requested inside of two weeks from the event are not guaranteed and will be processed at the discretion of Upstate NY Pauper and based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, waitlist status, the ability to fill your spot, and its effect on the budget. Refunds will not be issued for no-shows.
