Event Information Happy Halloween! Bring in a Spooky Themed CEDH Deck! Be creative! Make it Vampires or Zombies or Demons or Politics or anything else that you can justify as being either scary or Halloween themed! (We're willing to get creative with the interpretation of that, but don't stretch it too much!) The event will be at Game State in Spencer Iowa and we've got some awesome prizing to give out!
We're using the standard scoring for Top Deck. Rounds will be swiss rounds and we'll play a number of them until we have a clear top 10 cut and then go into the elimination rounds.
Proxies are allowed, and for this event if you've got Halloween themed proxies, so much the better!
We do not have a minimum player number to run this event. Sign up! Bring your friends! We're going to put a cap of 64 players for the event though, because we have other cool stuff happening at the shop, too, and you're welcome and encouraged to participate!
We'll be doing 80 minute rounds. If the round goes to time before there is a clear winner, the active player will finish their turn and then each other player will get one turn. After 20 minutes or each player taking their turn, if there is still no clear winner, the match ends in a draw.
The top place will get a Judge Promo Vampiric Tutor. We have Collector Booster packs of Innistrad Remastered for the top 10. The four players of the last table will decide who gets an extra pack, and we will have one pack for the player who traveled the furthest to get here.
IF we exceed 32 pre-registrations prior to October 10th, we'll get some more prize support rolling this way!
We will start with pod pairings at 11 am. We'll have a quick judge meeting and player meeting where the TO will talk about the schedule, etc.
Typically we take a break after the first round for lunch. We have a number of options within a short walking distance of the store and we have options for Door Dash, delivery, etc. After that, we go right into the rest of the swiss rounds and get ready for the top cut. If the players in the top cut want to take a quick break, we encourage that, especially to get some fresh air for a minute before jumping back in!
If you drop early or get eliminated from the Top 10 or want to keep hanging out after the tournament, we will also have our Halloween Party going on. Costumes and food and typically a murder mystery are all on the menu! We also have Axe Throwing in town as well as a brewery and a distillery and we always encourage our players to visit these other awesome locations!
