Event Information

The first full day cEDH event being held at Harrogate Geek Retreat - A playtest-friendly event

Date & Time: Sunday 31st May - 10:00AM Registration - 10:30AM Start

Location: Geek Retreat Harrogate, 30 Oxford Street, Harrogate HG1 1PP

Entry: Cost of Entry is £15 to be paid preferably in Cash to Alex Roberts.

Rules

  • This event despite being cEDH, will still be run at Regular REL. An announcement will made on the day regarding this and how we are handling rules questions.

  • Playtest cards allowed (full colour and recognisable art)

  • Please note that paper cutouts are acceptable but should be cut neatly so the card beneath is not visible, and covering a basic land NOT in the deck's colour identity, if possible

  • 75 minute Swiss rounds (without turns)

  • 3 rounds of Swiss with final top 7 cut

  • Top 7 matches are timed at 90 minutes.

  • Top 4 match will be timed at 90 minutes.

  • Winning a Pod will earn 5 points

  • Drawing a Pod will earn 1 point

  • Losing a Pod will earn 0 points

Prizing!

Top 4 prizing will be credit towards CardCrusherUK's card stock who will be in attendance on the day. He has a wide range of cards including some reserve list cards.

Each entry adds £7 to the prize pool to split between Top 4. Prizing will scale dependent on player count.

1st - 50% 2nd - 25% 3rd - 12.5% 4th - 12.5%

5th-23rd Entry to a raffle to win 3 different prizes (Alex will confirm these on the day)

Wooden Spoon Award for Last Place (Alex will confirm this on the day)

All timings are approximate as rounds may start earlier if all previous games are completed:

10:00AM - Registration

10:30AM - Round 1 Swiss

12:00PM - Lunch*

12:30PM - Round 2 Swiss

14:00PM - Round 3 Swiss

15:30PM - Top 7 / Top 4

17:30PM - Top 4

*You are welcome to get food/drink at any time. But games can be drastically altered by eating/drinking during game time.

Venue Information

Parking

Parking is available close to the venue - at a Multi-Storey Car Park behind the venue, street parking is available and most disk zones are free on Sundays.

Public Transport

The nearest train station is on station parade, which is brief 5 minute walk away from the venue.

The nearest bus station is also on station parade.

Food and Drink

The venue does not allow outside food and drinks.

This venue has a varied menu offering a variety of hot meals. There are also bakeries, and takeaways with a couple minutes work of the venue.

Please be aware the overall £15 entry includes;

  • £3 towards the shop for letting us use their play space.
