Use the name you want visible publicly (you can’t change this after account creation), 3. Add your Discord username to your profile (how to in Discord server FAQ) so others can find you to schedule matches.

Snap Judgments Discord - All tournament information and player communication will run through the SJL Discord. There are channels set up for official announcements scheduling games and sharing game footage as well as some spaces for you to chat freely. You can reach the staff directly by opening a ticket on the server.

The Snap Judgments League Season 2 Championship Tournament will take place immediately after the top 8 from each pod concludes. The Season 2 champion will receive $300 cash. The runner up will receive $150 cash. Third and fourth place will receive $75 in cash. Winners must have PayPal or Venmo to accept their winnings.

**Schedule ** - Most of this event will be played one week at a time with an adjustment to pod Semi finals and the Season Championship event.

Open pod Swiss - Swiss: May 6th - Jun 2nd (one game / week)

Top 8 pod cut - Quarter finals: Jun 3 - Jun 9 (one game / week) Semi finals: Jun 10 - Jun 13 (one game in 4 days) Finals: Jun 14 - Jun 16 (one game in 3 days)

Pairings - Pairings will be managed in groups (pods) of 32. These pods will participate in 4 rounds of Swiss. This means you will be scheduled for a match all four weeks, win or lose. The 4 rounds of Swiss will be played one game per week over 4 consecutive weeks earning points for winning matches. Each pod will have its own top 8 cut at the end of round 4 and will then compete in a single elimination bracket to find our pod champions.

All pairings will be automated through Topdeck.gg software and based upon your position throughout the event. Opponent’s win percentage will determine tie breakers and overall standings.

Deck Selection - You may change your deck from week to week and are not required to use the same deck throughout the tournament. Topdeck.gg has a deck submission feature that can be ignored for this event.

Rules:

  • Snap Judgments League is a Patreon perk and will be open to Patrons of all tier levels. You must be an active Snap Judgments Patron upon sign up and remain a patron for league access throughout the event.

  • Participants will use the SJL Discord to coordinate their matches. This will be the only method you and your opponents have to find each other. Please make sure your Discord information is correct.

  • Round one will be posted starting on Monday May 6th. Round one will last until Sunday May 12th at 9pm EST. Each consecutive Swiss round will follow this schedule with all league times following Eastern Standard Time (EST).

  • Once pairings are posted, on Topdeck.gg, either match player will make a post on the SJL Discord in the match-scheduling forum channel. To do this create a post there, tag them and let them know what time zone you're in. Important: Make sure that you tag them in the body of the post otherwise they will not get notified. Once both players have agreed upon a time (verify time zones) players will be using the Friendly Battle mode to play games (how to in Discord server FAQ). These will be best of one conquest style matches.

  • Players will have one week to finish their match and record their results. Topdeck.gg has a self-reporting feature that will be utilized as our primary tracking source (how to in Discord server FAQ). The SJL Discord will be used to verify any contested results between players. It is HIGHLY encouraged that you take a screenshot of the game when it is over this will be the best way to verify results. Please contact league staff immediately if you have any disputed results.

Players that have not been contacted by their opponent by Wednesday any week please open a ticket and link your forum post so the staff can attempt to contact your opponent. Players have until Thursdays at 2100 est to make contact with their opponent or will be given a match loss. Player do not need to play their games by this point. They must simply reply to their forum post to let them know that they have seen it and plan to schedule a match.

  • If one player records their match results on Topdeck.gg and the other player does not, league staff will make an attempt to verify the results between players. If this player is unresponsive the recording player’s results will be used.

  • Match wins award 5 points. Match losses award 0 points. Draws award 1 point. Players may intentionally draw their matches (consider this if you and your opponent cannot coordinate your match).

  • In the case of a player not fulfilling their responsibilities to coordinate a match the player who was active in scheduling will be the winner. Life happens please be honest with us and each other. If you have to reschedule due to a personal issue please communicate thoroughly with your opponent. If you are unable to fulfill your duties as a player at the agreed upon time and unable to reschedule the match your opponent will be declared the winner. The league staff will be notified of any issues between players. If both players cannot coordinate a match but are actively trying to schedule the match it will be a draw.

  • If a player disconnects from Marvel Snap during a match the disconnecting player may request a rematch without staff involvment. Players can conceed back to the gamestate that most accuratly matches the point when the disconnect happens. Please be advised that it is 100% up to the non-disconnected player to agree to a rematch without staff involvmnet. This is to avoid intentional disconnection before losing. A player may present recorded gameplay or screenshots to the judge staff if their opponent does not agree to a rematch. If the judge can dertermine that the game crashed then the players may be asked to play again if there is time remaining in the round.

  • In the case of a player being given a bye during a round they will receive the same amount of points as a player winning their match.

  • Players may drop from the tournament at any time. To do so please reach out to the league staff. If a player does not respond to their opponent, does not play a match, and cannot be contacted before the end of a round they will be dropped from the event for the following round.

  • Cheating by trying to find loopholes in any of these rules may result in disqualification and possible ban from future leagues.

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct and unbecoming behavior throughout the event (including on the server or any other public or semi-public SJL and non-SJL associated space) may result in disqualification and possible ban from future leagues.

GunnyT’s comments: My intention is that this is a fun tournament for the players by the players. Don’t be shitty to each other. Please think first about the other player and how your interactions may affect their experience. The staff members are here for you to help find solutions to any of your problems. Unfortunately some people suck. Don’t be one of those people. Let’s all make this the coolest freaking event ever and make this an event we continually look forward to participating in!
