Med City cEDH and Midwest Vintage Toys are back for our monthly dual land tournaments!
Think you've got the skills to come win a Revised Scrubland? Come on down and compete!
EVENT INFORMATION
Welcome to the CADUCEUS CUP!
This event will be completely proxy-friendly. You must use proxies that are in color and utilize recognizable art for the card you are proxying (any art for the card listed on Scryfall is allowed, and a great place to start, or use a site like https://proxxied.com/ )
Please use common sense on proxies, but if you have questions, ask.
*Proxies must be one item, in color, with recognizable, SFW art. Paper proxies sleeved with a Magic card will NOT be allowed, as it is two items. A single slip of paper, however, in example, is fine as long as your entire deck is the same. Any altered cards cannot cover the card name, mana cost, or make it completely different from what the card physically is (i.e., making Ral, Monsoon Mage cost 1U instead of 1R), nor can they be distinguishable from another card in your deck.
Cards and sleeves cannot be marked, and damaged sleeves must be replaced.
Moxfield deck list must be provided upon player-meeting on tournament day, but entering them earlier on topdeck is also great!
Topdeck software will be used to organize the tournament.
RULES
Competitive REL - https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Rules_Enforcement_Level
Multiplayer Addendum - https://topdeck.gg/mtr-ipg-addendum
4 rounds of swiss, with a cut to top 10 (top 2 get a bye).
80-minute rounds with no extra turns. The active player finishes their turn. If the end-round turn is not completed in 20 minutes, the table will immediately end in a draw.
(*these events are meant to be a lower barrier of entry in terms of introducing players to tournament cEDH, and we try to keep the vibes as chill as possible. The harshest ruling may not always be utilized, but we will talk things out and collaboratively come up with the best possible scenario with judge rulings! Please keep these events friendly and welcoming for new players to the scene as well!)
PRIZING FOR THIS EVENT
All participants in the event will receive a custom cEDH Token commemorating the event! 32 players guarantee the following prizes:
TOP PRIZE: Scrubland (revised)
2nd - 8th place: An arrangement of cEDH staples will be available to pick from for prizing in order of placement!
9th and 10th place will receive some store credit!
***See additional information below
If fewer than 32 players are enrolled in the event, prizes will be adjusted to include a mix of the above-listed items, dependent on the final number of players. First place will remain as the Bayou guaranteed at 16 players, with no additional prizing beyond that.
SCHEDULE
8:00 AM- Store Opens, player check-in/sign-up, & deck list submission/deck checks
(*Why deck checks?- To ensure everyone utilizing proxies in the format is presenting a fair deck for use at the tables, we skim and check to see if anything is out of place! And that those pesky Kinnan players aren't running 5x copies of basalt monolith...)
** WE WILL START NO LATER THAN 9 AM, BUT AS SOON AS PLAYERS ARE SUBMITTED AND READY
9 AM Round 1 Start
AFTER ROUND 4, BEFORE TOP CUT, WE WILL HAVE A 45-MINUTE BREAK
Please be aware, again, that the event will begin promptly at 9:00 AM, NO LATER
Late check-ins will be allowed to play only after receiving a Round 1 Loss. Players who have to drop after initial payment will not be given a refund for this event due to the nature of the prize payout and limited seating.
