Tournament Information, Procedure, Rules and Timings
Swiss Rounds
We will play in a random pod format based on the Swiss system.
- A win awards 7 points, a draw 1 point, and a loss 0 points.
- Participants are encouraged not to discuss their standings during the event.
- Each round has a time limit of 75 minutes + 15 minutes overtime.
- If a game is not finished within this time, the active turn is completed. If this turn exceeds 10 minutes, the game will automatically end in a draw.
- The entire table may agree to a restart if a game state arises that all players consent to reset.
- There is no limit for Restarts.
Top Cut
After 5 Rounds of Swiss we cut to the Top 16. Following these Rules:
Winners of Top 16 Pods build up the Final Top 4 Pod.
Top 16 will get a 150 minutes timelimit.
The entire table may agree to a restart if a game state arises that all players consent to reset.
There is no limit for Restarts.
If no winner could be declared, the player with highest standing of swiss-rounds will be decleared the winner of the pod.
TOP 4 Pod follows the same Rules as Top 16, except there is no timelimit.
Proxy Policy and Guidelines
Proxy Policy
At our event, we want to make access as easy as possible for all interested players. For this reason, we will generally allow full proxy decks brought by participants. However, to ensure that the tournament runs fairly and smoothly, we are setting clear guidelines for the use of proxies in the tournament.
Each player is responsible for their own deck! All proxies used in the tournament must adhere to the following rules. This applies to every card in your deck. Failure to comply may result in warnings or disqualification from the tournament in individual cases. The Head Judge has the final say regarding all on-site decisions about proxy compliance.
- All proxies may only depict official WotC artwork that has been officially printed.
- (Nonexistent) full-art versions of official artwork are allowed.
- Alternative frames are allowed as long as they do not obscure the text or other important card elements.
- Full proxy decks are permitted.
- All proxies must be printed in color. Make sure the printed colors match those of the original cards.
- It is allowed to mix original cards and proxies in a deck, as long as there is no difference in card thickness within the library.
- Proxies must have the same dimensions as an original card and fit properly into sleeves.
- Proxies ordered through platforms like mpcfill.com are also allowed, provided they comply with all proxy rules.
- Please ensure that your proxies are printed in a resolution that is easy to read for other players and judges.
- All tokens required for your deck must be brought by you. Reusable tokens are also permitted.
