Advance registration for each week is preferred due to space restrictions - all events are linked from this page under "Events"!
Each week is 1 round - 80 minutes. 3 and 4 player pods. $10 Entry per week.
What is Bracket 2? -The Commander Bracket system is a way to determine power level of a deck. It is NOT foolproof - a crucial part of the bracket system is the intent to play at a certain level. Click here to see information about the Commander Bracket system.
Players can expect Bracket 2 decks to be:
-mechanically focused with some cards chosen to maximize creativity and/or entertainment.
-win conditions to be incremental, telegraphed on the board, or disruptable.
-gameplay to be low pressure, proactive, and considerate, letting each deck showcase its plan.
-to play at least eight turns before anyone wins or loses.
-NO Mass Land Denial. Here is a list of cards that count as MLD.
-NO Chaining Extra Turns
-NO 2-Card Combos (game-enders, lockouts, or infinites)
-NO Game Changers. Here is the list of Game Changers.
This event is intended to be CASUAL. Anyone found to be playing against the spirit of a casual, fun environment or playing a deck outside of the bracket guidelines may be removed from the event and prize points revoked. Feel free to submit a list to [email protected] to have it checked for suitability before playing.
Each participant will receive a BINGO CARD at each store! The Bingo card includes game achievements that you can complete up to three of each week. Once you have a Bingo at each store, you'll automatically qualify for the finals taking place at Hobbytown on July 21st!
There are also points earned through attendance, eliminating players, and 4 unique achievements each week.
**WEEK 5 ACHIEVEMENTS AVAILABLE: **
Sneak Attack: Play a card from anywhere other than your hand.(except your commander.)
A Rising Tide: Give all players mana, card draw, and/or life in the same turn.
Choices, choices, choices: Make a total of 3 or more modal choices (from spells or abilities that give the caster a choice of two or more effects when cast)
Avenger: Eliminate an opponent who eliminated an opponent.
**What are the points good for? **
Points can be exchanged for store credit at either Hobbytown or Mana Games OR at the prize booth at the end of the event. There will also be exclusive prizing for everyone who qualifies for the Finals, including new Marvel Heroes product. MORE INFO TO COME!
