Join us on May 16th for From the Vault Premodern 8, the latest in our Midwest Premodern Tournament Series! Players will compete for $500 in store credit prizing distributed to the top 8 players, which doubles to $1,000 if we reach 32 or more players!
Premodern is a non-rotating constructed format that uses cards from 4th Edition through Scourge (roughly 1995-2003), capturing the nostalgia of early Magic while offering a unique and skill-testing competitive experience. Base Prize Pool (under 32 players):
1st Place: $200 in store credit
2nd Place: $100 in store credit
3rd/4th Place: $50 in store credit each
5th-8th Place: $25 in store credit each
Enhanced Prize Pool (32+ players):
1st Place: $400 in store credit
2nd Place: $200 in store credit
3rd/4th Place: $100 in store credit each
5th-8th Place: $50 in store credit each
Additional prizing extremely likely, and scaling with attendance!
This event will be held at competitive REL standards. Rounds are 50 minutes and best of 3. There will be 5-6 rounds of Swiss, based on attendance, followed by a cut to the Top 8 based on points awarded during the Swiss rounds. From there, we will proceed with single elimination rounds to determine our winner. This tournament will utilize Topdeck.gg for the pairing software.
This event is not proxy-friendly. All cards must be authentic Magic: The Gathering cards from sets legal in the Premodern format. Gold-bordered cards are legal for this event.
