Old School 93/94 Magic Tournament for Charity

Hello everyone, Caleb Mikolajczyk here presenting my first Old School MTG event! I have been passionate about eternal central OS for a while and knew I wanted to start gathering people together to play. Don't have power 9? Never fear, this event is fully proxy friendly! Shoutout to Second City Games for allowing me to TO at their location. We are going to be slamming cardboard for 5 rounds to support the ARK initiative, can't wait to see you there!

Tournament Details

• Format: Old School 93/94 [Eternal Central]
• Entry Fee: $20+ paid by cash or any digital form of payment to me upon arrival (100% donated to The ARK Initiative)
• Player Cap: 40 players
• Structure: 5 rounds of Swiss
• End of Round Procedure: rounds will be 50 minutes, if time is called active player is turn 0 there will be 5 turns. If there is still no winner at that time then it will go to orb flips to determine the winner. (For the chaos orb shootout randomly determine who is the 1st player. Player 1 flips and then player 2 flips. If p1 hits and p2 misses then p1 wins and vice versa. If p1 and p2 both hit or both miss another pair of flips must be performed. Continue flipping until one of the players hits and the other misses within the same pair)

Ruleset / Deckbuilding

For card choices -> 4 strip mine allowed, power 9 and a few other powerful cards are restricted to 1 copy. No ante.

Prizes

Alter Table Everyone please bring 1 or more altered cards to add the the prize table. This does not have to be super high effort just make it OS playable. Posca doodles are acceptable! People will be randomly selected after the swiss rounds are over to come up to the table and pick cards.

Group Sign Table Everyone who wants to can put one of their cards on the group sign table for everyone at the event to group sign! This is a great way to walk away with a memento from the event you can still put in your deck.

Extras As an alterist I may be doing some special altered cards for top 4, stay tuned!

What is this for?

Entry fee goes fully to the Ark Initiative. This charity is responsible for feeding the homeless through to go meals on the streets and in soup kitchens. Help out the less fortunate while enjoying an afternoon of MTG!

Outside food and drink are allowed! There will be water, sodas, chips, and baked goods available for purchase in the LGS.
