Day 2 of the North American Old School Cup during Eternal Weekend is here by popular demand -- and as a complement to the Eternal Central rules main event on Thursday, the offerings by Past Times at the David O. Lawrence Center throughout the weekend, and our own Quest for Ice & Chaos , we are offering something unique on Friday at the Elks Lodge -- X points Old School!
Rules
Join us for up to five Swiss rounds of X-points constructed Old School Magic. We will declare one champion; there is no cut to top 8. Mana Burn still happens, would-be draws are instead resolved by Chaos Orb, Strip Mine is restricted (gasp!) and you are limited to ten points from the B&R list below. No proxies! (other than APs, the original-art, original-frame gold-bordered cards such as CE/IE, WCD, M30, etc.). And of course, please remember the #1 rule in old school -- "don't be a dick!"
Deck Construction
This event features sweet prizes in ancient cardboard provided by your TO and our Sponsor, Dice City Games. There is even rumored to a be a Gauntlet of Might in the prize pool if this event hits 32 players! For this event there is no "Spiciest Deck" or "Best Budget Deck" style prizing.
Decklists
"Decklists" should be submitted as photos of your deck and sideboard, on Friday to [email protected] (subject should say "X-points at EW" or "A Quest for Fire and Might"
Playmat
The 2026 North American Old School Cup playmat by original Magic Artis Ken Meyer, Jr. is spookily appropriate for All Hallow's weekend -- featuring a certain wicked beast guarding a full moon -- and wielding the weapons of Freddy, Jason, Michael, and Ash.
