Black Sun Games 4th Annual Years End Commander Event

Event Information

Come join us for our annual NYE Commander Event! Each year we host this event with a custom ban list to level the playing field and to call upon the creativity needed to build the best decks within the confines of the ban list. This will be our 4th consecutive year, and we're ending the year with a mighty battle for epic prizes and giveaways! Entry fee is $35 and we start promptly at 1pm.

Decklists will need to be submitted for review by December 27th. We will not be accepting card lists the morning of the event. If you need cards for your deck, you will have had all month to request them up until the day before the event, so please don't wait until the last minute. We will have no time to pull your cards the morning of as we will be busy getting everyone registered to start on time at 1pm. Please plan to arrive early to be accounted for. If you're late and we've already started, you will not be able to participate.

Rules

The number 1 rule is to read the ban lists and clauses below thoroughly.

There are card names that are not on the ban list, but are banned by the clauses we've created. So for example, Mass Land Destruction is banned, so if an effect you control causes the destruction, exiling, sacrificing or bouncing of more than 1 land your opponents control, it is simply banned -- Do not run cards that do this. Actions you control that animate your opponent's lands like Living Plane are banned -- Do not run cards that do this. For the sake of this tournament, lands are sacred*. Single target land destruction is legal.

Extra Turns are banned. Spells and abilities that grant Extra Turns, yep, even Magosi, the Waterveil, are banned.

Just because it might be easy to overlook, Sol Ring is BANNED.

An important note: The creatures in the Sideboard are Banned Only As Commanders, but are legal in the 99!

Due to most of the expensive cards being banned, proxies are not allowed for this event. Otherwise we are usually very proxy friendly!

Anything Else... (health, etc)

Please prepare for an All-Day event. We anticipate a full house with no extra seats, no space for large bags/backpacks or for people/children who are not in the tournament. Please pack lightly and bring only what you need to compete with.

There is no smoking allowed outside of our building. Please go to the parking lot and dispose of your cigarette butts in the trash.
