Tournament Info

Cap of 256 players will be 7 rounds of swiss. Rounds will be 80 minutes long with no turns (active player finishes their turn.) Day 2 will be swiss rounds, followed by a cut to Top 16. Top 16 and Top 4 tables are untimed rounds. We are following the current structure of Wins at 5 points, Draws at 1 point, and Byes count as a win. Intentional Draws must be agreed upon by all players who participated in the match. In order to participate in the SaltFest $10K main event competitors will need to purchase a SaltFest Competitor Pass.

Proxy Policy

This event will be Playtest Card-friendly.

You may use as many "Playtest cards" as needed that are in color and utilize recognizable art as an alternative or MDFC placeholder cards that are clearly written on. MDFC cards require full text, mana cost, card type(s), and name.

If you choose to use MDFCs, you are limited to only 10 MDFC cards. Additionally, you will need a printout of the cards to reference on the side.

You WILL NOT be allowed to slip printed pieces of paper in front of a magic card.

You may use Magic 30th Anniversary cards, Collector’s Edition cards, International Edition, and World Championship Deck cards.

Deck Lists

Deck lists MUST be submitted before the start of the player's meeting day of the event. Decklists not submitted will result in a penalty to your round 1 match. Please create your decklists in Moxfield and upload to the event on Topdeck.gg

F.A.Q.

What is the format of the main event?

• The event will be 256 players, with 7 rounds before a cut to top 16. Each round will be 80 minutes with no turns. Day 1 will consist of rounds 1-5. Day 2 will finish the weekend of with rounds 6-7, then top 16 cut single elimination.

Number of rounds may be adjusted based on attendance.

What is the proxy policy for the $10K cEDH Main Event?

• The $10K Main Event^† will be fully proxy friendly.

• You will need to use "test cards" that are in color and utilize recognizable art. These cards must have non-Magic backs. Players must use dark sleeves or smoke inner sleeves to avoid marked cards.

• You will not be allowed to slip printed pieces of paper in front of a magic card.

†This is ONLY for the $10K cEDH Main Event and any constructed Commander side events.

What is the proxy policy for SaltFest?

• Proxies for any events (such as the Crack-and-Builds, drafts, etc.) using Eventlink will not be permitted. Non-Commander/EDH formats will not be permitted to use proxies.

Will the main event be part of the Topdeck.gg Circuit?

• SaltFest's $10K cEDH main event will be a Gold Tier event on the TopDeck.gg Circuit!

Are alters allowed?

• All alters must be approved by the head judge of SaltFest, Philippe, before the event. Please send all alter inquiries to [email protected] or on our Discord server prior to the event to expedite registration on the day of the event.

When and where is SaltFest?

• SaltFest will take place on April 20-April 21st, 2024 at Osceola Heritage Park. Assuming we have 129 or more players, Day 1 will consist of 5 rounds of swiss with day 2 having two more rounds before cutting to top 16 to crown the King of Salt champion.

What is the prize support for SaltFest?

• Prize support as follows: 1st place receives $2500, 2nd-4th placements each receive $1,000, and 5th-16th place each recieve $375. This prize pool will be scaled based on attendance.

How can I enter SaltFest?

• You will need to purchase a pass via our sponsor Double Infinity's website + any processing fees.

What is required for the SaltFest main event?

• You will need to purchase a SaltFest Competitor Pass (can be found above this FAQ). We are using the Command Tower pairing software so a TopDeck account is required to participate in order to submit decklists and view match pairings the day of the main event.

What is the refund policy for SaltFest?

• If an individual that purchased any pass for the SaltFest cEDH $10K is unable to attend for any reason, they will need to notify a member of The Salt Monolith or Double Infinity Gaming at least two weeks in advance before SaltFest to be eligible for a full refund.
